Here at narrativeartspractices.com we are about to embark on a journey and would like to invite you with: A global online narrative arts education curriculum that involves everything arts based in the tradition of narrative work.

Whether your interest lies in organisational, general community or therapeutic concerns this is for you. In narrative arts practices we are interested in how teaming up with the arts is different or the same in the narrative as compared to other arts therapies approaches. Narrative arts practices covers any number of art forms, from dance, drawing, creative technology, photography, general use of stories (which is not in and of itself narrative practice) and much more. As student it will be up to you to decide where you want to focus..

Well, we think you already are. But, no, being an artist is not a requirement. We work as much with basic arts and crafts projects as we will help you facilitate working with more formal expressions of art with  different clients (individual, family/team, community or organisation). Neither you, nor they have to be architects, musicians, photographers, and so on – but they could be.

You do not need prior narrative training. We take a two-prong approach – a scaffolding approach to learning. We teach about narrative through the arts as much as we teach about the arts.

Hi, I am Elmo Pienaar and passionate about exploring possibilities of working at the intersections of life. I have a particular interest in coaching and organisational matters. I was raised in a musical home where the neighbors were either the richer or poorer for having had to listen to both Mozart and Metallica.

My name is Jo and I am excited about how the arts contribute to rich story development. What I know is that even the toughest problems are not hundred percent successful and that the arts have a knack for helping people find and practice their voice.

While it is perfectly fine to enroll as an individual and take part in the global community we also encourage you to enroll in groups from your organisation or community. It is in the community where you will share your primary themes whether it is about organisational development (+narrative+arts) or children’s therapy (+narrative+arts) or leadership development (+narrative+arts).
